Important Information about Returns for Alabama AutoFile Customers

For non SSUT customers:

At this time, TaxJar’s AutoFile service for Alabama submits a return for both:

• State sales taxes
• Local taxes for State Administered counties and cities

TaxJar will NOT AutoFile sales tax returns for Self Administered localities.

If you need to file returns for Self Administered localities, please note that TaxJar will not AutoFile those returns and you will be responsible for submitting those returns and payments.

We may add support for filing returns for Self Administered localities in the future. If you would like to request this feature, please contact support@taxjar.com to let us know you are interested in adding filing for Self Administered localities to Alabama AutoFile.

As there is no local tax for SSUT licensees, sellers within this program will not have to separately register or file with the home rule localities.
