How to import historical sales to TaxJar
There are a few different options you can take if you need to import historical sales, depending on how you are integrating with TaxJar. We’ve outlined the different options below:
| API | For custom API integrations, use the Transactions endpoint to POST historical sales to TaxJar with the appropriate transaction date. New TaxJar users can import historical sales data via the API at no additional cost. |
| Linked carts | When you link your e-commerce shopping cart to TaxJar, we will automatically import your sales data from January 1st of the current year up to the present day. If you need to import data beyond the start of the year, TaxJar can backfill that historical information for you. There is a one-time small fee for this backfill service per requested year. For more details on how to request the historical data backfill, please refer to the instructions here. |
| CSV | If your historical sales data is stored on a platform that does not integrate directly with TaxJar, you can import the information using a CSV file upload at no additional cost. |
