Iowa: How to grant TaxJar access to your GovConnectIowa account
As of November 15th, 2021, GovConnectIowa is now the official state website to file and remit your state sales tax in Iowa. You should be receiving a letter from the state that will provide the information you need to create to your account on GovConnectIowa.
Here's what you need to know about this new site and Iowa AutoFile:
AutoFile now requires 3rd party access to your GovConnectIowa account in order to file and remit sales tax on your behalf.
What do I need to know about the new GovConnectIowa system?
- You will need to establish your own GovConnectIowa account for your business.
- You will be mailed a welcome letter from the state with a unique access code that will allow you to set up your account.
- This welcome letter cannot be used to grant TaxJar third party access.
What do I need to know to provide TaxJar third party access?
- TaxJar is actively requesting 3rd party access codes from the GovConnectIowa system for all current and new AutoFile customers.
- For security purposes, this unique security code will be sent to you in a postal letter, which will be mailed directly from the Department of Revenue to your business's address on file with the state.
- Please be advised:
- Postal delivery can take 10-15 business days.
- Security codes are unique to each request and will expire 30 days from issuance.
- Once you have received your 3rd party access code, please add the code to your Iowa AutoFile enrollment form, here.
- ⭐️ If your account is set up as business owner, you may be able to add third party access using another method. Instructions below.
