What's my State Registered Business Name?

  • This is the business name you provided to the state when you registered for your sales tax license.
  • It should be listed on your sales tax registration paperwork, as well as in your New Jersey Department of Taxation account.

What's my NJ State Taxpayer ID?

  • This is the 12-digit state certificate number you received from the state when you registered for your sales tax license.

What's my NJ State PIN?

  • This is the 4-digit PIN, or 6-character alphanumeric combination, that is assigned to you by the state once you have registered for a sales tax permit.
  • The Taxpayer ID number and PIN you provide for AutoFile should be associated with your New Jersey Sales and Use Tax account number. These details should not be associated with other types of tax accounts with the state of New Jersey.

What's my State Assigned Payment Schedule?

This is the filing frequency assigned to you by the New Jersey Division of Taxation.

  • New Jersey offers a quarterly return schedule, and a monthly with quarterly returns schedule (also known as quarterly prepay)

What's my First Filing Period?

  • Pending successful verification, the period listed here is the estimated first filing period TaxJar will file.
  • The First Filing Period is based on the date the enrollment form is saved and the payment schedule.

Additionally, to complete the enrollment, you'll need to grant TaxJar 3rd party access by following these steps:  

  1. Login to your account on the New Jersey Tax Portal website, and if needed, select the icon for Tax Portal- Admin.
  2. From the top navigation menu, select ‘Manage Delegate Users’ under the "Profile Information" drop down
  3. Select Add New Delegate
    • Email address: filing@taxjar.com
    • Taxpayer User Registration Confirmation Number: TU01000104587
      1. **Our TaxJar account will show the name, “Carrie Almany”.  Carrie is a Stripe team member and our point of contact for the account with the state.
  4. Select Next
  5. Add : TaxJar Third Party Account
    • Select appropriate business and set the Start Date as the first day of the current year. Leave the end date blank. 
    • Click Tax Type Authorizations
    • Select Sales (set start date as first day of the current year. Leave end date blank) 
    • Select Tax Type Functions 
    • Assign the following functions:
      • File Returns
      • Make Payments 
      • View Tax Type Specific Correspondence
    • Click ‘Ok’ in the bottom right corner.
      • You may receive a popup, ‘Changes will take effect after selecting Save on the User Detail Page,’ click ‘Ok’ again.
        • On the User Details page, click ‘Save’ in the bottom right corner.
    • Once redirected to the Manage Delegate Users page, you should now see TPS UNLIMITED INC. as a delegate user

    Make sure that you have an active sales tax license and that you have the most current login credentials for your account.
