Texas: Nexus Address Tips
What should I enter as my nexus address to enroll in Texas AutoFile?
This step depends on whether or not you are based in-state or out-of-state.
- To enroll in AutoFile as a seller who is based in the state of Texas, you'll first need to enter your Texas-based business address as your "Primary Address" in your TaxJar account's State Settings for Texas.
- If you are not based in Texas but have nexus in Texas (such as due to having your inventory stored in an Amazon fulfillment center), then you should tick "No" and the "Primary business location" field will remain blank in your TaxJar account's State Settings for Texas.
What should I enter as my Registered Location Number to enroll in Texas AutoFile?
- Your Registered Location Number is a 5-digit code issued by the Texas Comptroller's office to help identify each of your active business locations.
- You can find this number listed beside your active business on the Texas Sales Taxpayer Search website.
- Your Registered Location Number will not be your zip code.
