I was contacted by someone claiming to work for TaxJar. How can I confirm this?

TaxJar is committed to your security. It is important to know that TaxJar will never contact you via WhatsApp, Telegram, or other personal messaging apps. Our official support team only communicates through the following verified channels:

  • Email: Official emails will only come from addresses ending in @taxjar.com or @stripe.com.
  • In-app notifications: Communications sent directly through your authenticated TaxJar Dashboard.
  • Phone support: Phone support is available for specific plan tiers. However, a TaxJar representative will never call you to ask for sensitive payment information.

Protecting your financial information

We take data privacy seriously and will never ask you to provide digital wallet information (such as seed phrases, private keys, or login credentials for apps like MetaMask, Coinbase, or Trust Wallet).

Important: TaxJar will never request payment via cryptocurrency, gift cards, or wire transfers through a chat interface. All billing and subscription payments are handled exclusively through our secure, encrypted billing portal within your official account settings.

Verify the domain

Scammers often use look-alike domains to trick users. Always check your browser’s address bar to ensure you are on our official site.

Please note: Any other website that includes TaxJar in the domain (e.g., taxjar-agent.com, taxjar-support.net, or taxjar-tasks.com) is not affiliated with TaxJar. These sites are often used for task scams or phishing attempts. Please do not enter any information into these sites.

What to do if you suspect a scam

If you have been contacted by someone claiming to be from TaxJar on an unofficial platform, or if you encounter a suspicious website:

  1. Do not click any links or download any attachments.
  2. Do not provide any personal or financial data.
  3. Report it: Send a screenshot of the communication to our support team at support@taxjar.com.
