What do I need to know about Colorado SUTS?

The Colorado Department of Revenue has launched a new Sales and Use Tax System (SUTS) remittance portal which will to help retailers streamline their statewide experience, from license registration to filing returns.

What is it?

The Colorado Sales and Use Tax System, or SUTS portal, is a new program with a website that creates a central point-of-access for sellers to remit their state and local sales tax returns.
Under this program, Home Rule Cities are now able to  opt-in to the SUTS portal and allow their returns to be filed together with the state return, rather than separately.
New cities are opting in to the SUTS portal, often. Here's where you can find an up-to-date list of participating Home Rule jurisdictions

Will AutoFile be able to file in the SUTS portal?

Not yet.
Our engineers are working diligently with the CO Department of Revenue to ensure that we will be able to support SUTS returns with AutoFile in the future.

If you'd like to be notified when AutoFile is available for this service, please send a request by email to support@taxjar.com.

Do I need to do anything else to use the SUTS portal?

For security purposes, you may have a debit block on your bank account.

To ensure that your payment to the state is allowed, you will need to contact your banking institution and have them add these Colorado Department of Revenue ACH originator IDs to your approved list:

  • T061380598
  • 9000020368

If you have additional questions, you can find more information on the Colorado SUTS website.
