Does TaxJar set up or review my Amazon tax settings?

TaxJar does not currently set up or review your Amazon Seller Central account settings on your behalf. 

  • Each business is different and there are many other steps in sales tax compliance that we can't see or control from our end. 
  • This often requires knowledge specific to your business and we recommend consulting with your legal advisor or a sales tax expert.
  • At this time, TaxJar does not provide sales tax consultation or legal services.

  • If you've mirrored the exact State and Local tax checkboxes, as well as the Shipping and Gift Wrap tax settings shown in the tax settings table at the end of our Sales Tax Guide for Amazon FBA, you can be certain that you have set up your Amazon account to properly collect the correct sales tax.

  • Please note, after you enable tax collection for a state, you can verify whether Amazon has begun collecting taxes by filtering orders by the state name and "sales tax was collected" on the Transactions page in your TaxJar account. 

  • If you continue to see taxes not being applied on new transactions 72 hours after you turned on tax collection, please reach out to Seller Central support regarding your Amazon account settings.
